Kaihāpai Hōtaka – Programme Facilitator

We’re looking for a person can effect change and impact. Is it you?

If you love people, and love seeing rangatahi step into their power, this is your kind of mahi.

At Hāpai Tūhono, we walk alongside Māori rangatahi as they explore who they are and where they’re headed. We’re grounded in manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and mana motuhake — and we’re not shy about doing “whatever it takes” to help our communities thrive. And just so we’re clear: Bring your full self, your whakapapa, your reo, your humour, your quirks. All of it is welcome here. Whether you are tūturu or on your journey. We grow from strength to strength by being unapologetically Māori.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver wānanga and programmes that uplift, inspire, and connect.
  • Support excursions, community engagements, and hands‑on learning.
  • Coordinate bookings, logistics, comms, and programme admin.
  • Build strong relationships with rangatahi, whānau, schools, providers and employers.
  • Gather feedback, enter data, and help strengthen our practice.
  • Be flexible, be present, be real, sometimes work outside normal hours.

What You Bring

  • Experience with facilitation, youth work, or community programmes.
  • Confidence in tikanga and comfort with Te Reo Māori.
  • Strong communication skills and South Auckland community awareness.
  • Courage to challenge racism, sexism, and harmful behaviour.
  • A whānau‑centred approach.
  • A full clean NZ Drivers licence and clean police vetting.

Why You’ll Love It Here

You’ll join a kaupapa-driven crew who care deeply, laugh loudly, and back each other every day. You’ll grow your skills, your confidence, and your impact, all while helping rangatahi shape futures they’re proud of.

If this sounds like you, come join our whānau. Let’s grow from strength to strength, together.
